The AT&T Foundation’s recent donation to Hands On Georgia
brings the global telecommunications company’s total commitment to volunteerism
in Georgia to $100,000.
Not surprisingly, AT&T has a strong history of philanthropic activity. For more
than 40 years, the foundation has contributed as much as $1.7 billion to
communities across the United States. Since 1996, AT&T and the AT&T
Foundation have distributed more than $439 million to enhance quality of life
and to strengthen communities.
With this donation, Hands On Georgia and AT&T enter into a partnership that
allows Hands On Georgia to provide technical assistance to its affiliates,
through the AT&T sponsorship of Hands On Technology (HOT). In having
access to HOT, Hands On Georgia affiliates have a cost-effective data management
system that allows them to build capacity and standardize basic business
processes. HOT provides easy-to-use tools for administrators to market and
communicate with volunteers and to collect and track attendance and impact data.
It also guides the volunteer experience from initial search for service
opportunities to post-project evaluation and referrals to future projects.
AT&T was one of Hands On Georgia’s early sponsors. Now with this gift,
Hands On Georgia affiliates also benefit greatly from the company’s continued
generosity.
