Global Youth Service Day 2009, celebrated on April 24-26, is the largest service event in the world.  Over the past 21 years this service event has engaged millions of young people ages 5-25!  By promoting public awareness and education, highlighting the amazing contributions that young people make to their communities, and supporting and encouraging youth to begin a life-long path of service and civic engagement. Organized by Youth Service America with the Global Youth Action Network, with the support of many key partners such as HandsOn Network, they have awarded grants to develop coalitions of community partners to plan local, regional or statewide celebrations. Hands On Georgia hopes that you will encourage the youth in your area to serve on this momentous weekend of service.
